How can I hear dolby digital surround sound when useing my dish network receiver. do i need special cable?
Im useing the red white and yellow marked cable going from the receiver to the DVD player and then the same type cable going to the T.V. but no surround sound. I do have surround sound when just playing a DVD on the Dvd player. Do i need special cables??? thanks for any help..
You need either a coaxial or optical digital audio cable. The coaxial digital audio cable looks like the normal RCA cables you are already using but it will have orange ends. The optical digital audio cable looks like a single piece of cable with an almost square plug on the end. If you have a lower end audio receiver you may only have the coaxial digital input. I would leave the yellow video cable plugged into your Dish Network receiver but unplug the red and white audio if you do use either of the digital audio cables.
