What resistor do I need for a 3 kv capacitor?
I have an item with a 400 volt capacitor and I am trying to increase voltage output by replacing it with a 3,000 volt capacitor.
The item runs on two 1.5 volt batteries and I am also thinking of changing it to a 9 volt. It currently has two resistors but I am not sure how many ohms they are. There are four bands on them which are (in order) yellow, dark purple(maybe black), brown and gold.
It has two transistors labeled C2328a Y971 and C-4 Y The capacitor is labeled PM224J.
Please ask if more information is needed and I will add additional details.
The item is an electric flyswatter. I'm using it on stinkbugs but they are armored and the flyswatter only stuns them.
The resistors value is 470ohms and the capacitor value is 0.22microF.
Replace the resistors with 1,5Kohms(1500 ohms) for 9V power supply!
