What is better for mid-range bass, a 10'' or a 8'' subwoofer?
I've noticed that 12'' subs only pick up super low bass not mid-range bass. Just curious what is best for mid-range bass
Any 12" sub has the capabilities to play "mid-range bass", actually the frequency extension of a lot of subs goes up into the 1kHz range. But subs are not intended to play that range accurately so we use low-pass filters to only allow low frequencies to pass through into the subs coils.
My guess would be that you have your low-pass filter on your amplifier set too low, try around 100-140 Hz if you can, getting another subwoofer dedicated to mid-bass would be an expensive and pointless fix.
Good Luck.
