If a power adapter fries will it ruin the thing it was plugged into?
I noticed the smell of something electrical burning in my house. I found the culprit. It turned out to be the power adapter to my sister's 1000 Korg keyboard. All we're concerned about is whether or not the keyboard still works. By the way, the keyboard was off but the adapter was still plugged in. Will it probably still work with a new adapter or does it usually fry the appliance in these situations too? I'd appreciate any help or input.
In most cases you'll be OK, especially with name brand equipment. Chances are that whatever failed did not allow higher than normal voltages to be sent into your keyboard.
