How can I hook up my stereo speaker to work on my computer? ?

I have a speaker that has + red wire and - black wire.
Is there a way to some how put this on my computer for extra sound. I don't have a stereo no more just the speaker.

If I'm correct, you need an amplifier to use those. You can't just buy the sterio head (the plug used for headphones) and use that because it needs more power than what you computer (sound card) can give.
