Which one of theses speakers is better?
I'm looking at two speakers. They would serve as the two front speakers in a 5.1 system.
1. Fluance SV10 High-Fidelity Three-way Floorstanding Loudspeakers $399.99
These speakers have four 5" speakers and a 1" tweeter
2.Fluance ES1 Higher Fidelity Two-way Floorstanding Pillar Speakers $299.99
These speakers have Side-firing 8" woofers, two 5" speakers, and a 1" tweeter
I like my speakers to be LOUD! The reason i am choosing Fluance is because i am on a tight budget and i want affordable floorstanding speakers. ( also these speakers would be placed in a medium sized room and i will be sitting about 8 feet away from them.)
For the same amount of power the ES1 is going to be louder it has a 90db sensitivity rating as compared to 87db for the sv10, but the SV10 also has more bass, bass takes more power to produce..the SV10 is not going to sound very good without a sub woofer where the ES1 could stand on its own for music but not movies...if you pumped 175 watts into both the sv10 would probably sound more robust because of the bass...if you get the ES1 you will need a substantial sub woofer where with the SV10 you could get away with a smaller one..I would get the SV10 because you can cross over at a lower frequency, sub woofers always sound better the lower they are crossed over in most rooms, but a lot has to do with the size of your room what kind of sub you have and your placement options for the sub...
