Can you hook up a subwoofer straight to a tv?
Ok im trying to put together a decent home theater and this stuff is a lil expensive so im buying things one by one..i purchased a subwoofer a Definitive technology supercube 1 to be exact and was wondering if it is bad for my tv or even the sub if i hook up the sub to my audio outputs on my 52in LCD...i tried it and it works great of course i have the subs bass down real low just enough to know its there...also is there any difference between a regular audio cable and a subwoofer cable
Yes you can, as long as it's a self powered sub woofer, and not relying on your small TV RF amplifier to do all the work to power that big thing. and no, there is no difference between an audio cable and subwoofer cable. Its the same coaxial copper wire on the inside of the audio cable, except monster writes their name all over the cable and double the price. just get a normal audio cable.
